Beginning in the late s, Lakota people filled the bulk of managerial, supervisory, and directors’ positions in the various offices and programs. Within the tribal government, there are a small number of elected positions and a larger pool of nonelected jobs. Another set of positions are nonelected but require approval by the tribal council.
