36 A Product of the College of Business Administration, Univ. of Georgia SUMMARY Large-scale macro-econometric models have three basic purposes - forecasting, describing the regional economic structure, and analyzing the impact of alternative economic policies. Data constraints which become greater with decreasing geographic boundaries impose considerable difficulties in the construction of these models. From the structural description and long-run trend forecasting aspects, these models are quite satisfactory and represent an important contribution to regional analysis.
